Thank you for visiting my art gallery. As you will see, I paint
mostly with a coffee medium. You will also see that I am a stickler for
detail and accuracy. I think it may be genetic, since my mom does fine
embroidery and sewing.
Most all of my artwork is taken from photos given to me by my
family. The nice thing about painted artwork is that you can eliminate
stuff that doesn't look good and clean up the background.
I like the coffee medium because it has a warm tone and is quite calming
to look at. I tried many mediums before the coffee and just could not get
the desired detail. My first pen and ink piece was very rewarding for
me. Once I tried coffee, I was hooked.
I often get asked how I get such detail.
Several years ago I developed the “point transfer method”. Using that method anyone can get the same
detail as I do (with practice). This
method is described in my book “Walking the Cards”, available from Amazon. If you paint faces, you know that the key to
creating a face is the location of the eyes, nostrils, mouth, and other
features. The Point Transfer Method will do
it for you.
I also do
some watercolor. However my technique is
different from the majority of watercolor painters. With it, I can get details in my work. My colors may also appear somewhat different
because I use a Color Calculator that I created several years ago. This device is described in another of my
books titled “The Physics of Color Harmony”, also available from Amazon. The book describes how it works, how to use
it, and how to make your own.
After
touring the art gallery, take a look at my books section. My interests are art, physics, and
philosophy. I’ve been described as a
“cerebral thinker”. I welcome any
comments on my art or my books. Thanks
for visiting.
